From the Backseat

Posted on 07/28/201107/28/2011 by Backpacking Dad

We are driving down to Orange County as I type this, another trip to Disneyland, some time at the beach in our future, a first meeting with new family members and a reunion with those long separated.

We just passed through Buttonwillow on the drive south.

Erin, drifting in and out of sleep in the back, sometimes singing to herself, sometimes singing to us, just won at everything. Unsolicited, she piped up, “Thank you for always bringing me to Disneyland…”

You’re welcome, sweet girl. Now go to sleep. We have a long, wonderful day ahead of us.

So sweet! My daughter doesn't thank my wife and I directly yet, but, she does wig out and say: 'We go/went there!" every time she sees Sleeping Beauty's Castle in the credits of a Disney flick. So, I guess she has fond memories of our recent trip to Anaheim. :)
